Please use the Intake Form first. It’s the fastest way to get your issue to the right person and avoid delays due to missing information or over assignment of email cases. The Intake Form submissions are routed to Union Reps, Member Services Coordinators, the Extended Member Services Coordinator or the Office Administrator.  

If you must email Executive Officers, Union Reps, or Staff directly, please use your personal email address.

Contact your local representatives and staff about:

• Collective Agreement questions
• Concerns about unfair treatment, discipline, or harassment
• Questions about your appointment (contract), pay, hours of work, job duties, or scheduling
• Problems with your supervisor or workplace conditions
• Requesting a Union Representative to attend a meeting with you and management
• If you’re being asked to sign something you don’t know if you should
• Advice on how to handle a workplace conflict
• Becoming more involved in the union
• You have feedback or concerns you’d like brought forward to the Union Executive Board

If you’re unsure about your rights or if something doesn’t feel right at work, use the intake form, and your question or concern will be directed to the correct person.

Our Union Representatives

What do Union Representatives do?

• They are your colleagues who volunteer to support members and ensure your voice is heard.
• Reps assist with complaints, discipline meetings, grievances, and confidential support.
• If issues cannot be resolved informally, they help move matters forward as grievances.
• Managers must inform you of your right to have a Union Rep present during discipline meetings.
• Often issues can be resolved quickly with the help of a Rep.
• Reps can help communicate with management on your behalf.
• They are great problem solvers, educators, communicators, and advocates.
• They work with you every day — don’t hesitate to reach out.

Our Staff

Anke Starratt – Office Administrator
Responsible for: General inquiries, day-to-day operations, budgeting, reporting, meetings, training logistics, etc..

Tina McKenna – Extended Member Services
Responsible for: Navigating sick leave, return to work (RTW), long-term disability (LTD), workplace accommodations & related grievances, and navigating Queen’s HR policies related to leaves, etc..

Peter Miller – Member Services Coordinator
Responsible for: Grievances, overtime, workload issues, human rights & equity concerns, etc..

Zachery Grignet – Member Services Coordinator
Responsible for: Grievances, workload, overtime, HR&E issues, etc..

Indigo Bunting – Vice President Responsible for: Grievance Committee Chair, Chief Union Representative, Co-Chair Union Representative Committee, coaching and training the union representatives, etc..

Ahmer Shahzad – Acting Vice President
Responsible for: Grievances, Arbitrations, workload, job evaluation meetings, informal employer meetings, committee support, etc..

Kelly Orser – President
Responsible for: Collective bargaining, grievances/arbitration, Local management, operations, workplace concerns, constitutional obligations, etc..
