Do you believe in the fight for equality? Not just for women, but for everyone? Are you passionate about community outreach, activism, and building a more just and inclusive workplace? Do you consider yourself a proud feminist ready to make change happen?
Women of Steel is where passion finds purpose.
United Steelworkers is committed to equity and inclusion at every level. We know that unions need women and women need unions. That’s why Women of Steel exists: to empower, uplift, and lead. All USW 2010 members are considered Women of Steel and our committee provides the space to connect, organize, and grow.
Born from early women’s caucuses that fought for representation and respect, Women of Steel has become a powerful force in shaping our union’s future. It’s written into USW’s Constitution: every local with women members must have a Women’s Committee. At Local 2010, the majority of our members are women and we are proud to uphold that commitment.
Our committee champions equity through action. We support leadership development, the fight for pay equity, promote anti-harassment policies, and build solidarity through events that strengthen both our union and our community.
Whether you’re organizing an event, raising awareness, or standing in solidarity, your involvement matters. Women of Steel is about building connection, growing leadership, and pushing for progress that benefits everyone.
If you want to be part of a movement that brings people together, uplifts voices, and drives real change, then we invite you to join us.
Women of Steel: Together, we rise.
