Political Action Committee

Do you believe that workers should have a say in the decisions that affect their jobs, families, and communities? Are you interested in how public policy shapes our working conditions in a public institution and how we can shape that policy in turn?

The Political Action Committee is where members come together to engage with the political process in a way that protects public services, strengthens workers’ rights, and defends our future.

As employees of a public university, our daily work is intimately tied to public policy. Government decisions on funding, enrollment, and international students impact staffing levels, workloads, job security, and wages. We cannot afford to sit idly on the side lines.

This committee works to:

  • Monitor and respond to government policies that affect workers and the public sector

  • Build relationships with elected officials and community allies

  • Support political movements that align with labour values

  • Mobilize members to act

  • Educate our members on key political issues, how they affect us, and how to get involved

Whether it’s for advocating for strong public education, fighting privatization, or supporting legislation that projects collective bargaining, our voices matter. This committee makes sure that they’re heard.

If you are ready to shape the future of not only your workplace, but if your province and country, join the Political Action Committee.

Politics affects us. Let’s make sure it reflects us, too.
